The sun is shining and there’s fresh snow on the trails! Are you making the most of these beautiful late-season conditions? Let us know!
Today was a real gift, it felt like Christmas out there. Thank you Bob! You’re amazing!
Fast conditions on a rainy morning! Thanks Bob , that was lots of fun out there this morning!
Not only did I see Bob grooming today I saw him bringing snow to the trail to cover some “brown “ spots.
What a guy! Who could ask for anything more!
Conditions today were very mixed. Lots of fast snow conditions. I found the groomed snow helped with skating compared to the hard packed or icy conditions. Thanks groomers!
Was out skating last night and the deck was alternating between absolutely amazing and ice. Killarney just now was almost all ice.. Any reports on Woodlot today? Wondering if it’s worth trying tomorrow morning before it rains.
Thank you so much groomers for your dedication!
Woodlot surface was groomed today. No tracks. Briana/Lian connector is in rough shape. Walking down the hill would be advisable. Once on the Kent Road the skiing is fine. Some trails are really good, 2,3,Beaver, Lollipop.
Thanks Bob and Rex for the thousands of kms of great grooming! Got out yesterday and my skin skis weren’t really up to the hard ski conditions. Klister maybe for those who use it. Skating still looks possible, especially once you get to the back road and 1 and 2 (as far as I got). Walking the Lian connector hill definitely recommended.
Woodlot is roughed up. Brianna/ Lian connector should be walked. The rest is fairly good but use caution as some spots where the sun hits are very hard.
No grooming today. If we don’t pack it down today and let it dry overnight, we will have a small bit of snow to work with tomorrow. Hopefully this will give a a few more days of skiing.
The end is near 🙁 Had a great lunch ski today but it’s thin and very hard anywhere the sun hits.
Thank you to the groomers as always, not a lot of snow to work with all year but the trails are always an absolute blast.
I just got back from my lunch ski – one of my favourite this season 🙂
Monday: Brianna Connector to the Kent Road is very hard-packed. If in doubt, walk.
Skiers heading into the Woodlot can expect generally speedy skate conditions, though things can be a bit wild in places.
Groomer Bob went around 6 times with the renovator and removed a lot of the wash-boarding and loosened up some snow on the skating deck.
The classic track was reset, despite very little snow. Expect shallow, worn-out, or inconsistent track in some areas.
Thanks, Bob, for your early-morning grooming. The skating deck was firm and fast, while the classic track appeared icy in spots. Tomorrow is another day.
Full marks, gold stars and rainbows to the Woodlot grooming team for turning out a fast but mainly stable skate surface this morning. Expect speedy and in some places slightly wild skate conditions; get ready to use those inner thigh and glute stabilizer muscles lol. The wider parts of the skate deck that have been more exposed to sun have small undulations in them, but nothing to make it uncontrollable.
Classic track has taken a beating unfortunately, looks icy pretty much through the whole network. If the flurries continue through the day, the skate surface and classic track might regain a bit more stability.
Fresh corduroy this morning and great coverage. Unfortunately, I got out too late to enjoy a good glide.
I walked the Lian St Connector (the part through the woods) and am glad I did. The tracks are sometimes icy (in the sun) sometimes like fresh snow.
Trails are fairly good. Good skate surface. Tracks are frozen. Use caution on the Lian Connector as it’s very hard packed. Walk if you are nervous.
Thanks for getting out Bob. I will enjoy a ski on beautiful conditions thanks to you and other volunteers!
Accessed the Woodlot from Brianna and the conditions are great. All trails have beautiful corduroy and the track is brand new all around.
Groomers have left a shovel at the drifting along the highway trail if people want to take a few minutes help with the shovelling. 5 or 10 minutes will help. Thanks
